Keywords: Migrant children, social integration, psychological development

China’s fifth national census indicates that there are nearly 20 million migrant children in China. These children came to cities with their parents who are migrant workers. Although living in cities, they have relatively poor living and education conditions. Many have difficulties in integrating into city life.

The project sponsors Sunshine Cultural Activity Rooms and sends outstanding teachers from top schools to teach after-school courses for migrant children. In the meanwhile, it also hosts Sunshine Activity Group to promote healthy growth and all-round development for migrant children, and help them to better integrate into the society.

ACF plans to invest RMB 11 million in three years to build 125 Sunshine Cultural Activity Rooms, and set up 250 Sunshine Activity Groups participated by both urban and rural children. The project is expected to benefit 400,000 children.
