“China Philanthropy Talents TrainingProgram” Officially Launched

    On December 10th, "China Philanthropy Talents TrainingProgram" was officially launched in Beijing. The Program is co-sponsored by Amway Charity Foundation and China Charity & Donation Information Center under the guidance of the Ministry of Civil Affairs. Over 100 people were present at the launching ceremony, includingMr. Dou Yupei, Vice Minister of Civil Affairs, Ms. Wang Suying, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Social Welfare and Promotion of Charities, Ministry of Civil Affairs,Mr. MengZhiqiang, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Human Resource, Ministry of Civil Affairs, joined by heads of reputed domestic charity foundations such as Narada Foundation, Tencent Foundation and China Guanghua Foundation as well as other representatives from NGOs.

    Amway Charity Foundation developed the "China Philanthropy Talents TrainingProgram" with the aim toresolve the current undersupply of philanthropy practitioners in China. ACF plans to invest a total of RMB 10 million (USD 1.6 million) in three years to cultivate 50 outstanding practitioners in philanthropy annually. Out of these 150 people, 10 top performers will be selected and awarded with extra RMB 100,000 (USD 16,040) per person for expanding the efforts of their own charity organizations. At the end of the three-year training, those 10 of them with the biggest potential will be offered a chance to go abroad for exchanges and learning in philanthropy.

    "China Philanthropy Talents Training Program" is the first civil training program for charity organization in China that is government-driven, which has since its inception aroused close attention from the charity sector and general public. ACF posted 21 weibo messages about this program on its official micro-blog, receiving 208 re-posts and comments. The Program itself posted 13 weibo messages on its official micro-blog, receiving 849 reposts and comments.The messages were reposted by many public opinion leaders, including official page of Sina Charity, Mr. Dou Ruigang, Chief Editor of the Charity Portal on Xinhua Net and Executive Secretary General of Tencent Foundation, Mr. Shi Zengzhi, Head of Center for Civil Society Studies and Mr. Liu Zhouhong, Secretary General of Narada Foundation. Their reposts have remarkably amplified the impact of the program.
