Official statistics show there are 58 million left-behind children in China’s rural areas. Schools in poor areas in western China usually lack education resources, or advanced education philosophy to promote students’ all-round development.

ACF partners with the Chinese Youth League in the Education Aid Project by sponsoring postgraduate volunteers from famous Chinese universities to teach left-behind children in western China.

The project aims to create more opportunities for left-behind children by upgrading school facilities, assisting dropouts to return to school, organizing recreational and sports activities, and promoting all-round development of left-behind children.
ACF plans to invest RMB 17 million in three years to sponsor 2,100 postgraduate volunteers from 80 universities to provide educational aid. The project is expected to benefit more than 600,000 children.
